Rear view camera ?

Post by Peteltt33 »

Hello.
Seeking a rear view camera system for use on a bicycle.

This will consist of a lens, mounted on the seat post or underneath the saddle.
A wire will run to the handlebar, where a screen similar in size to a medium
sized smart phone, will show the view to the rear.

The unit does not need to record or have any fancy functions. The screen unit
should contain the power source, either batteries or can be USB charged. The
screen unit should have a quick detach type mount.

Can anyone please advise if a set up of this type is commercially available at
this time and if so, from where?

Thank you. Pete.

Have you tried a mirror?

Thank you to Scottg for the reply.
The OTP is what I am looking for but it would appear to be unavailable at present.
Thanks again, Pete.

Question:

We have a rearview camera on our car to aid parking and reversing. The screen is the same orientation as a rearview mirror ie it's not a normal screen/camera but swapped left-for-right. This is obvious really as if it was correctly orientated, it would be at odds with the mirrors.

Do these bicycle rearview camera screens have normal orientation like a normal camera rearview bicycle recording camera and not swapped left-for-right?

I'd imagine a mirror would be a better option if you can find space for one. Screens suffer from problems in sunlight.

Hello Mick and thanks for your reply.

Regret am unable to address your question as I do not yet have any experience of these units.
This is the reason for my original post.
Thanks Pete.
