Here's one which is a bit - er - different. I've pixelated part of the piccy to avoid giving the game away. Need both "where?" and "when?" I think.

The church - and especially the tower - reminds me of Edinburgh. Can the architectural reproduction be trusted? 16th century?

Spot on! That wasn't too hard was it!? The model - which according to the plaque was made in the 1950s - is on display in the Museum of Edinburgh in Canongate, and is supposed to depict Edinburgh as it might have looked at the time of Mary Queen of Scots. The pixelated-out portion represents the Castle of course.

We were there for most of this week, partly to watch Fringe shows, in one of which our son was a performer. All good fun!

I think that's Harlech castle in the background. Also famous for Ffordd pen Llech.... have you climbed it? :wink:
