Chelle should be able to get a couple of bikes hidden in our van if it'll help

I'll give the tourist bit a miss ... i'll probably be on oxygen by then .. :D ... and the last 20 visits to Keswick where enough ...

Doing a 30 mile Don Valley ride in the morning with a 6.1 mile climb at the end .... lets see how this works out

I’m with you there... back in the sixties and seventies I used to love the place but the love affair has waned over the years. The divorce started with a pub trying to overcharge me for beer must of thought I was a tourist  The religious nutter in the hostel didn’t help my mood and I cycled out of Keswick before 9 am. Still love the surrounding area but I’ve no need to join the tourist trail of outdoor shops.

It's not my favorite place but others seem to like it, someone tried to overcharge me for a meal they stood no chance

AAHH .... The Cheque book Mountaineers ...
These days a number of mountaineering shops would be charged with manslaughter ..
Fishers of Keswick, Graham Tiso (?) ... and a very well known chain in Fort Bill ... alledgley
People would rock up, spend a fortune in Outdoor Clothing Establishments ... and on maps ! .. and we would end up carrying their bodies off the hill a few days later ..... :( :(
"Access for All" was a disaster ....for all ...

A week to go seems like a good time to relist the daily route maps as they have been revised due to road closures and someone building a housing estate across the route. I have retained the same route numbers.
Day 1whitehaven to little Salkeld 58m ascent 5043 ft http://www.plotaroute.com/route/856452
Day 2 Little Salkeld to Consett 48m ascent 4656ft. http://www.plotaroute.com/route/856289
Day 3 Consett to Tynemouth 30m ascent 1312. http://www.plotaroute.com/route/856375
As previously stated these routes were prepared on plotaroute.com using open source cycle maps.
I can't guarantee the accuracy if other maps are used.
We may be Wimps but this C2c route is a challenge to most cyclists
See you next week

My shoes fell apart a couple of weeks ago :( Had to buy some more and on the box it said they were running shoes. They don’t seem to work.
