Some good prices on kmc 8 speed chains.
Yes, they have been the same bunch for ages, and their stock range has narrowed and narrowed.

Blimey, even that was 2 years ago now. I feel old ...
(apparently this purchase was described as a "Brexit hedge" - I rather like that term.
Darling, I think we need to buy a Brexit Hedge!)
Re: Chain Reaction?
well all this is news to me as I rarely buy bike stuff. As I tend to buy in bulk, chains, tyres, cassettes etc to beat postage costs & when there are special offers. The first thing in ages was the Deore V brakes. and very nice they are

We don't have an LBS worthy of the name. Nowhere you can pop in and expect to come out with a new Gatorskin.
So I try to buy from my fave online retailers, Spa and SJS, because I need them to be around in years to come when I want a widget not widely available. I even pay a little extra to buy from them sometimes, just for that reason.

Where do you live pwa? Over the years several have posted on the forum that they have no LBS (also often with your caveat of "worthy of the name"). I'm grateful to be able to say that here, in West Yorkshire, I have four LBSs within 20minutes riding distance, and a further two which are a bit further - about a further 20/30 mins. All are a bit different, they have different 'specialisms' but they're all honest and honourable businesses and between them serve all needs, as well as fads and fashions! I do sympathise with you.
I also shop at Spa - they're near enough to my home (25 miles) for them to be almost a local LBS and they stock some items that no-one else stocks. I've bought from time to time from SJS, when they've had something I wanted that even Spa haven't and found them helpful and fast serving. To me, whilst Spa and SJS do sell on-line, I have them in mind as being on a higher level than the archetypical on-line dealers.
We have an Evans about 15milesaway in Leeds, and find them helpful.
