not sure whether the 22 gauge is 22 SWG or 22 AWG; either way that is some thin-walled tubing; it would have been a pretty lively ride. 28mm tyres are fitted, much as road riders might gravitate to that size these days. However I have a feeling that the UCI would have something to say about the forward saddle position....

Red rear wheel reflector is an oddity. The Schwinn rack looks like a version of the Pletscher carrier, but of a type that I have not seen before. The saddlebag accessory is denim, very seventies!

just what you need when you are sat over the rear wheel; a springer front fork. The sheer weight of it might be enough to keep the front wheel down...

I suspect that part of the rationale behind the design is that on an ordinary, the spine of the frame provides some suspension. The saddle on the Rex is mounted in a similar way....?

A close inspection of the bike dates this advertisement accurately because of the C-record groupset with delta brakes and non-aero levers. But there is no need for that really; a glance at the hairstyle gives the game away just as well, it was fashionable for all of five minutes, that.... (*)

The special red+white+blue paint scheme was used for the just 1976 model year, and bikes with this paint scheme go for more on the classic/vintage market. They were celebrating, I dunno, something that happened 200 years before.
