What's the difference ................. as advertised?
One isn't live, and the other one is.

Why do they call it live sport when it's on a screen remote from the actual live sport?

Because you're watching it as it happens.

You're watching a screen, it's not live.

Live music is just that. You're in the audience.
Live sport is just that. You're in the stadium.

Hi,
That's virtual live.
There will be a second or several seconds time lag.
I will admit that proper live experiences are best but it's impractical for us all to be there isn't it.
Give us a live update next time you go over or under a bridge :)

Is rugby a particularly brutal and exhausting sport?
Do the players need a week to recover between games?
Why is the word 'game' used? 'Fight' or 'battle' or 'challenge' might be better

I'm not going to argue with you on this,I was merely pointing out that live sport(on screen)is simply watching the event is live as it happens.

Not for me it isn't,I dislike large crowds intensely.
I once saw The Eagles live in a football stadium, the stage was set up at one end and due to the size of the crowd we were on the halfway line. They were dots in the distance, but it was OK we could watch them on the big screen set up above them :? .
People talk of the 'atmosphere' I never felt any.never again.

I'm just being awkward about the terminology.

One can't be live when the other one is live.
There's no differentiation between live sport and live sport .............. and live music.

We often make fun of going past a pub advertising live football when they don't have a pitch!

At that level the answer is about a week recovery. It's attritional. If you've got short turnarounds you'll get injuries.

If they played the cancelled games a day later you might be ok but it's the world cup, there's other teams playing then. That might leave space a few days later but what's the point? The team doesn't have as long to recover, analyse, coach, train then taper for the next game.

Suddenly you've got one team at a disadvantage during the knock out stages when there's only good teams. Play the game to get knocked out in the next. No point.

There's just a few cases where a team played the better teams early on and the last was the one they banked on getting the big points. That has gone and you're out. Rough indeed. But the teams already through with a game to spare due to easier games at the start won't want to play the last game with a very short recovery period but it'll be one system for all or it's simply not fair.

Imho either option will benefit some but disadvantage others. England vs Australia in the first knockout stage with 3 days to prepare?

Hi,
The Japan match was certainly Electrifying.
Clash of the Titans as Scotland fought hard to try to Equalise and overtake.
Got to admit that I found myself siding with Japan against Scotland :?
Nothing against Scotland at all, Just wanna see Japan play again.

Spare thought for those poor souls in Japan who are missing after the typhoon.
Typhoon I am just assuming that it is a word for southern storms?

Typhoon is what a tropical revolving storm or cyclone is called in the Pacific.
Hurricane is the word used in the Atlantic.

Typhoon is also a novel by Joseph Conrad. It's a cracking read.
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

What now? England v. Wales or S.Africa? :D

Immense performance by England today. It's almost asking too much to have two northern hemisphere teams in the final and Wales really are due to ignite after getting through whilst not quite firing on all (15) cylinders.

Hi,
Biggest obstacle removed.
Wales won't rate their chances meeting England final, but have springboks to suffer first.

Sorry, but if you lot want to watch all this stuff and keep an eye out for all these people playing on a field chucking a ball about - of any shape - good on 'yer.

Boring and pointless in the extreme to me. I cannot get interested or excited about "sport" at all.
I really don't get it.

Sorry for being obtuse or awkward about this.
