What are you most looking forward to when we leave?

In all the wrangles over economic issues one very important thing is often overlooked.
That is the freedom of Europe.
This diverse and wonderful Europe.
Freedom to live, work, study or simply travel without restriction for long periods of time.

I know some on here don't value it (though some have benefitted in the past,) but a great many of us do.

It's not only about the economics here but rather a feeling of equality and belonging. Personally it is very valuable and I dread to lose it.

When Rees Mogg said of the referendum result; "a victory as great as Waterloo" (roughly), he turned my stomach and set me against him.

And quite apart from being silly, he's a liar and a hypocrite. As a general description though, 'silly' does very well.

How man! Yuh meen "a jawnee intuh spayus".

As you will know, the liquid was made as a by-product of ICI in Smoggyland then shipped up to Tyneside to be bottled as "beer". ICI had a pipe at the back of the works, hanging off a quay, so the waste gurgling from various processes could all be gathered up in a geet big bilge-tank, for The Geordies to later sup in The Bigg Market and other dens of iniquity.

Mind, it wasn't as bad as Fed, which was made of the stuff they extracted from the waters of The Tyne when they cleaned it up. It was cheap though.

The Constitutional Reform and Governance Act (2010) requires any treaty be laid before the House for 21 days before it can be ratified. The Brexit deal is such as treaty 1.

Looks like we took back control back in 2010 and made our own laws :D

I've read that some vote to suspend that law is part of the rush-it-through package. Some commentators suggest that the Lords won't agree to that, so brace yourself for more "traitors" whinging from the tabloid press and possibly Boris booting some Lords out to join Heseltine as ex-Tories.

...a tactic that worked so well for him.

Can anyone remember when the Conservative Party was conservative? This death cult thing has been brewing for some time, but now it has consumed the whole party. Steve Baker, dressed like Rambo, is marching around the playground, and the weedy kids are following because they think it will spare them from being bullied.

How weedy must you be to be afraid of Steve Baker?

:::::SOVEREIGNTY ALERT:::::

For all those who have argued, here and elsewhere, that we will be regaining sovereignty - the WAB going through Parliament explicitly recognises that Parliament is already sovereign. Anyone who has told you otherwise is misleading you.

In summary. We never lost sovereignty.

The 21 day law was presumably passed for good reason (given the importance of such treaties). So it does rather beggars belief that Johnson seems to want to completely override such laws just to meet some artificial deadline he has imposed on himself (given the message from the EU is that they would grant an extension).

I always find it amusing that people like Corbyn (and Tony Benn) thought the EU a capitalist conspiracy.

People like Johnson -and Trump - think it a socialist conspiracy.

Meanwhile we have always:

Set our taxes
Decided on our own welfare/pensions/health
Decided our own criminal justice and prisons
Sold off our rail and power, unlike most of the other EU countries
Decided our own education
Gone to war

Without any EU input.
