What is Santa bringing you/ did he bring this year?
Hoping for a Muc Off chain cleaner, which must have fallen off the sleigh last year. Swiss Stop brake blocks always a welcome gift, them and inner tubes - can’t have enough 700c inner tubes. I haven’t asked for any Continental 5000s as I don’t need any tyres right now, but if some were to come...

St Nick brought me an Elite cycling thermos. Soup or mulled cider on the go. Can't wait to use it.

I had what I took to be Norovirus a couple of days before Christmas ( I will spare you the details) and as it is basically a 24hr thing, Christmas itself brought me a return to good health. It is wonderful how you can feel so good so soon after feeling so bad. I had a very pleasant 90 minute ride today, part of it in the rain, and I enjoyed every minute. Body temperature good, breathing normal, joints all fine, and muscles not bad at all.
I got the new frameset before Christmas so I asked family to keep presents small. A few pairs of socks, a nice book on hedgehogs, teas and coffees.

Santa is a diminutive/contraction/abbreviation of Saint Nicholas, a real person, an early Christian -4thC?- we hi gave gifts to the poor. Father Christmas, as Mick says, I'd our guy, probably Victorian. The Dutch have Sinterclaas.

Children insisted on giving me a present. Massively strong bike lock from my son and a very large bottle of wine from my daughter.

Father Christmas is a mid 17th century name dating back to the Civil War.
Santa Claus is 19th century usually used in USA.

His body or a fair lot of it is in Bari - the italians nicked him. Also patron saint of brewers and prostitutes apparently.
