Re: Favourite smells
Hi,
I think those Afghan jackets smell far worse?
Just like to point out I forgot it was the favourite smells, don't particularly like the smell of gear oil or Afghan jackets

Cold air at night
A crisp autumn night
Walking outside in winter in the evening, a smell of a burning fireplace in the air-perfect
Freshly home baked cookies

Un-favourite smells
There is a nail bar in an almost empty Shopping Heaven near me, smells awful
Don't mind the other sort of nails, the world of screws and clips, cable ties and fastenings is fascinating

Hi All, Two types of oil, Bardahl Two-stroke oil - nutty smell when in use. The any brand of Castor Oil, unforgettable odour!
Then the smell of freshly roasted & ground coffee around Coopers Food Hall in 1950's Liverpool. They were things that my late father knew nothing about, no sense of smell. MM

Re: Favourite smells
Rotten apples, a lovely sweet scent
The apples are not even ripe yet, but trees are dropping lots of apples, I smelt them before I saw the tree

Who's apples aren't even ripe yet?
Tons of them here. Can't give them away.

In the north they are still ripening
Do you gather yours? Thought of getting a pig?
I plan to gather enough apples and pears to last months

Re: Favourite smells
No, not gathering, just rotting on the tree or dropping and rotting.
Mrs Mick F is an aficionado at chutneys and jams.
Boxes of fruit and stuff ready for her given free, so we don't need our own.
We have a quince tree, and that is just coming to ripening the fruit. The harvest from it will be down this year and the fruit will be small. Just as it came into blossom in the spring, we had heavy rain and wind and much of the blossom was blown off before being pollinated. Probably the position of the tree and the direction of the wind were responsible.
