Any recs for a Bike-Hire-Shop : NE coast Mallorca (Can Picafort)

Post by timmitchell »

Family holiday so any riding will be am, perhaps 3 hours. Maybe one day with a 125k ride.

I am OK for routes but am after personal recommendations of bike hire shops. (Yes I have google, but I want a ' used X, don't bother / they are brill)

Also, I will be there Paris Roubaix Sunday and need a place to watch it. Does anyone know anywhere?

Thanks in advance

I've stayed in Can Picafort about 12 times.
Can recommend bike hire from Max Huerzeller.

You can reserve a bike using their online form without a deposit.

There's a large TV in the lounge bar of the Hotel Galaxia on the amusingly named Passage Colon. As long as you buy a drink they will change the channel for you. It depends if it's on one of the Spanish channels. We often watch the Vuelta in there post ride.
If you do need some more rides I've got plenty from there.

Thanks guys. Perhaps I should have said where it was.

Colon is the Spanish name for Christopher Columbus, but it also makes me smile. So does Trump, but I guess he makes me cry.

We use Velosportmallorca. Deliver anywhere on the island so it is useful it you return and use a different centre for future holidays.

I had a good experience renting from Mallorca bike hire in port de pollença:

Mallorca Bike Hire | Mallorca Cycle Hire
Carrer de la Gola, 22, 07470 Port de Pollença, Illes Balears, Spain
+44 7460 279744

Not the cheapest but bike was in good condition and well set up. I rented the most basic option which was a rim braked carbon Orbea equipped with Ultegra.

At the time you make the reservation you enter various measurements of how your current bike is set up so that a close approximation can be achieved with your loan bike. (I imagine that many places provide this service but some certainly don't). The place is owned/run by people from Langsett cycles in Sheffield.
