Mounting a Tubus Tara with the worm drive universal fit kit

Postby Kit » 7 Feb 2020, 1:32pm

Hi. Can anybody shed any light on how to proceed with this. There are no instructions with the kit. I can see how to put the actual hose clip on but not sure what to do with the drilled metal bits and the nuts.

Agreed that just a diagram would be useful but its not rocket science

I use this on one of my bikes quite succesfully.

so here goes

wrap rubber strip around fork then cut to size so there is no overlap
position hose clip around fork and over rubber and tighten until there is a 5mm gap on outside of fork
position tab between clip and rubber with tab facing up and out
    tighten clip
    attach rack

Do not wrap the fork with tape etc for protection - the strip does that and won't grip securely over tape - been there, done that!
position the clip carefully so that it a) doesn't interfere with the rack and b) you can get to the drive screw easily
i found that setting a bolt up as a stud to mount the rack to works best so you access the nut on the outside of the rack mounting point - neat and secure.
Convention? what's that then?
