Dreams
Re: Dreams
I had (I think) my first dream about coronavirus, last night.
I'm walking up Ditchling Beacon (walking up the road, if you please!, something I never do in reality, seeing as there's a perfectly good footpath). I'm passed by a peloton of cyclists zooming down the hill, keeping far too close to one another. I yell out after them "what about the social distancing rule then?"
That's all I can remember. But it shows that this CV thing has got down into my subconscious....

Suppose that this room is a lift. The support breaks and down we go with ever-increasing velocity.

Absolutely no idea!
I know it wasn't far from RN Submarine School.
I spent much of my time in HMS Collingwood of course ........... and times and tides have moved on, and on and one and on and on .................
Two sites for you:
Firstly Eric Birbeck and colleagues brilliant Hsaslar Heritage Group also on Facebook
They are working with the developers to maintain much of the history and buildings. Much like the Crosslink and newer buildings have gone as part of this process. They do occasional tours of the grounds particularly during Gosport's Heritage week
The second site is that of the developers to give an idea of what is planned or already in place Royal Haslar
Finally - the Submarine School is no more, although the [url-https://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/news-and-latest-activity/news/2020/january/09/200109-end-of-gosport-escape-tower] SETT[/url] is preserved as a historic building
Re: Dreams - or nightmares
Forget "dreams" - now I'm getting nightmares. Woke up from one this morning. Nasty. I reckon many others are getting the same, proabably many of you guys. Am I right?
Is there anything one can do to suppress dreams altogether? I know that's not good for you, but neither are nightmares. Or at least, stopping oneself waking up in the middle of a dream, or nightmare?
Whatever, I'm going to ask my doctor (by phone, or online) for sleeping pills once again. Lots of them. Haven't taken any for years, except during brief spell I was in hospital - but now is a good time.

Maybe an old wives tale but lettuce is supposed to help with sleep.
I always dream if I eat cheese late in the day.

Just has a queer dream, wives of colleagues had babies, 2x twins, all boys
Someone I knew years ago, she is 65, had triplets, three girls
Did not dream names for the seven little favourites unfortunately

Of course, the seven dwarves
Or they could be named alphabetically, Alpha, Bryn, Cyril..
Or numbered
Primus,.. Septimus
..
Had another queer dream, paying at the fuel station in Euros, the cashier insisted on giving change in Deutschmarks
Then I woke up and missed my train

Re: Dreams
Hi,
Dreams?
I think your find dreams are more about fear of failure and aspirations.
What Is a nightmare?
Most peoples interpretation of this is a bad dream.
Also consider that when you dream you cannot move a muscle.
So waking from a bad dream you are likely to find yourself in a feeling of helplessness and fear until you actually wake up in a sweat.
Had a few of those.
I used to dream several times a night, but this all ended when I woke up in intensive care.
Nowadays I couldn't tell you last time had a dream about anything, maybe once a year.
I used to suffer from chronic insomnia, so this probably had something to do with dreaming.

I agree that the plural of dwarf can be either dwarfs or dwarves, but Snow White lived with Seven Dwarfs.

Re: Dreams
I used to have the same dream over & over again, 'till friends told me to go to a shrink - I used to dream that I was actually a goat! The shrink asked me, 'how long you been having these dreams?' so I told him, 'well, ever since I was a kid, I think...'

I had something like that, planned to cycle to the station, kept telling myself to allow time in case the bridge is raised to let a ship through
That was then, where I used to live, no bridge on the way to the station now
