There was a time when I could ride from one end of the Carn to the other without putting a foot down. It’s too eroded and i’m too wizened now.
You local?

no just looked is still in my hallway. I wouldnt be seen dead riding a Raleigh

Are you mad? Raleigh Special Products made wonderful, top class, bikes and frames in titanium and steel and had (from the SBDU (Specialist Bike Development Unit) at Ilkeston) the same framebuilders and GOD who worked there until 2000. The same frame builder who worked in SBDU and RSP made all of Bernard Hinaults frames for his 5 tour wins (badged differently in the tour for sponsorship purposes).

I love them so much I have a:

Titanium touring bike - mid 90’s- made for around the world cyclist Bettina Selby.
Blue Reynolds 708 Randonneur - 94.
Red Reynolds 708 Randonneur - last year of production - 2000.
Rare Reynolds 708 Raleigh Travelogue world tourer with full XT and butterfly bars with dynamo lights - 2000.
Raleigh Randonneur 708 (Magura hydraulic brakes); Blue Raleigh Randonneur 708 dynamo; Pearson Compass 631 tourer; Dawes One Down 631 dynamo winter bike;Raleigh Travelogue 708 tourer dynamo; Kona Sutra; Trek 920 disc Sram Force.

Oh all right then, I'll join in: nothing special, very heavy, and a right bugger if there are gates on the cyclepath.

Happy days,

My winter fixie that has been my go to bike for my urban cycling during the past few weeks. 30 year old Dave Yates built Reynolds 531 frameset, TA Vega chainset, 18 year old Schmidt hub handbuilt by me onto Mavic Open Pro rims, 3ttt bars and stem and a Carradice Super C Rack bag, the Brooks team Pro I am not using as I currently trying a saddle with a channel down the middle.

Hewitt in Columbus Genius. Odd frame sizing, presumably custom. Very short top tube, hence ahead adapter and long stem!
