Hi everyone,
This is my first post here so apologies if I chose the wrong category. I am an international student moving to London in October where I will be living on Market road and I have a few questions regarding the London cycleways. I will be commuting to the Blizard Institute on Newark Street on a daily basis. I was wondering if any of you knew a convenient cycle way that I could use to cycle between those two locations? Also, is the C6 cycle way open yet? A part of a potential route includes the A1210 which looks quite dangerous on google maps. Have any of used A1210 for cycling?
Best Wishes,
Piotr

Re: London cycleways
Hi Piotr
Is that the Market Street in East Ham, and Newark Street in Whitechapel? London is so large that it is common for the same street name to occur twice or more in different areas.
I am not familiiar with that side of London, but it looks to me as if the best route would be the B167, A124 and A13. Some parts of the A13 include roadside cycle paths and bus and cycle lanes. There is a cycle path along the section crossing the River Lee.

Re: London cycleways
Hi jgurney, thanks for your reply. I actually meant 'Market Road'. It's next to Caledonian Park so it is not the one you are talking about. Newark Street is indeed in Whitechapel.
Re: London cycleways
I don't cycle much in London, but someone who does suggests that you try:

Oops. In that case this route (hope it shows up properly) or some variant on it might be better than the main road route but only adds 0.5 of a mile:

Re: London cycleways
As a regular, cycle streets is ok, TfL journey planner in cycle mode is ok too.
Strangely I have a full set of paper maps that TfL used to produce (they may still do?) and prefer those as batteries dont go flat or lose signal at inconvenient times.
Edit: London Cycle Campaign has the paper maps:

Well recommended.
