You've also got to consider how well people are at judging how far 2m is and good they are at keeping that far away from everyone. Then where do you measure from? Is it centre to centre or extremity to extremity. If they say 1m is adequate, the people failing at keeping 2m would then not be observing any social distancing at all.

I find breathing out after I can not hold my breath any longer can give an extra 10 or 20 seconds -
