frame protector tape: 3M 8617HS vs 3M Ventureshield

Hi

Any comments or feedback on experiences with or recommendations for 3M's frame protector tape.

The two recommended to me have been
1. 3M 8617HS (Known generically as helicopter tape - comes in clear)
and
2. 3M Ventureshield (reported (but not verified) to be used by Invisiframe - seems to come in gloss and matte)

3M ventureshiled seems less costly per meter but i have no knowledge or experience of using these products.

I’ve used something called helicopter tape successfully. Available from fleabay (unbranded).

Same here: I've used 'helicopter tape' on my trike frame to protect against chain slap and it worked just fine. Seems never to wear out.
