One for the dotwatchers

LEJOG ultra-endurance race with a difference

This brings a whole new meaning to unsupported as competitors can not even stop at a shop!

Hi,
That's my sort of ride.
I wonder how many will underestimate their energy usage?
I'm assuming they're getting water from other sources other than shops/tap?

I've only seen the set up of one rider who had a stove and a water filter. It's tricky as there's not a lot of outside water taps unlike in other European countries.

This starting video gives you an idea of how a few people have gone about. A couple with trailers which sounds difficult off-road but I wouldn't know

It's about 1200 miles, I don't know how long they're expecting it to take them but last someone competing did it in 6.5 days so maybe 7-8 with the extra weight?

I've been following the prep of Molly Weaver in Instagram as she prepares to do this ride. During lockdown I watched the EF Racing/Rapha Film of last year's race.

I just can't comprehend the distances they are covering given it's both off-road and self-supported.

500km in 36 hours.

It's one thing to use them for a road but off road was always going to be too tough. There's quite a few riders with them.

500km in 36 hours.

My first ever endurance ride without knowing what I was doing Was 474 K In 32 hours, solo.
Carry all my food from the start and using streams for water.
A piece of plastic sheet for Lying on the grass verge.
It's all just a mindset once you're in it just keep going :)

I'm amazed anyone's using them when there's a Tubus rack that's lighter,as rigid, costs half the price and will take as much rough offroad use an adventure tourist can throw at it

They may have got it for free for the race - I know at least one has. But yea why would you not go with something with a proven track record
