We've booked up a treat at the Corsewall lighthouse hotel on the peninsula west of Stranraer. Love the idea of somewhere so remote.
Looking on Street view they look marvellous roads for riding: flattish terrain, empty roads, beautiful scenery. Anyone got any recommendations? Guess it might be rather windy though.

Re: rhins of Galloway riding
A perfect ride is across in the Machars Port William, Monreith, Isle of Whithorn, Garlieston, Wigtown. I was there in July and had perfect weather.
Whilst you probably will also go down to Drummore, Port Patrick is a must, while you’re there I never find that peninsula as appealing as the Machars.

Visit At Ninian's Cave where the end scenes of the original Wicker Man were filmed.
A bike does more miles to the banana than a Porsche.

Cycling is delightful in that area with relatively little motor traffic. Whilst the hills aren't huge, it's pretty up and down; you will get good exercise.
Nearby Stranraer is a rather depressed town but worth a visit. Make sure that you get down to the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse.
