A 1k ebike isn't going to have top end components, more like Alivio or low end group set stuff.
Some will opt for crappy cable disc brakes and cheap £50/£60 forks.
Have a look at Woosh bikes or something like the NVM Moscow.

Orbea Gain bikes use the same ebikemotion system as Ribble, and there are secondhand ones on eBay occasionally - but at around £1200-1400 for the base models. That was close enough for me to commit, and I haven't regretted it.

As ever - be sure to check the bike is in good working order, serviced, etc, and ask to try it.
