The building is quirky. Looks like a hybrid of Scottish and US ecclesiastical architecture. Is it the home of a US citizen in the UK? If so you have me stumped, I’m not at all interested in celebs. That said I’ll have a stab at the Northumberland/Scottish Borders as a location.
Having said that, something about that ascending line in the background says the old Rosedale incline near Ingleby Greenhow, to me.
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

I give up and the lack of replies underlines the vagueness oi the quetion. We need more clues-is it HQ of Wester Ross cycles or childhood home of David Steele or Insopector John Rebus or RabCNebitts pied a terre?

A few clues, the presence of Velux style windows in the roof the two modern flues in the chimneys suggests modern architecture. but why so apparently isolated?
the white barge boards suggest UPVC along with the windows reinforces the modern era

Is there some significance to the building or is it a totally random choice?

No significance except for its position in the middle of a high, bare moorland,it,s incongruity if you like. Also the style, certainly "modern retro",germanic ,alpine perhaps.

I would say that hillside is more borders than D&G. The sheep look like they’ve a white face. Again more borders
