Before the chain "Quick Link" there was the "Super Link"
No tools needed, This one was for the narrow chain used by 6 and 7 speed clusters in the late 1980s. I certainly used these into the early 90s, possibly as late as the late 90s, since when they have been in my box of bits. Must be valuable being Eroica compliant.
Re: Before the chain "Quick Link" there was the "Super Link"
my memory may be failing me here but was the original 'super link' designed with screws which held the detachable side plate on? It is lost in the mists of time now, but I remember thinking that one 'super link' cost more than my favoured sedisport chain....
FWIW I think there is no entry on velobase for 'super links' of any kind.
cheers

High end Izumi track chains still used a bolt with a threaded link.

I still have those. Broke some of them too over the years. They are easy to remove and attach without a tool (similar to the Wipperman link).
