Hello,

I commute to work so cycle most days (only 6ish miles total), but enjoy cycling in general. Spent four days on the Isle of man in june cycling, managed to tackle the sloc on a mountain bike+paniers+kit that was fun. Hope to meet lots of people to cycle with, kind regards.

Welcome, is your username a nod to our new VAT rate? Or is it some sort of VAT scam you may want to share with us?

Glad you said panniers and not pannier.

Did you wear a helmet?
Would you like to start your own helmet thread or participate in an existing one?

Ditto, red light jumping.

Ditto, pavement riding.

Hello D and welcome

I'm sure you'll find this a nice forum to visit - lots of good advice and encouragement and lots of fun too. The odd argument but in the main all done in a good spirit.

As you have probably realised from the previous post, certain subjects can cause a certain ( :D ) amount of controversy...just avoid any post that mentions them until you see which way the wind is blowing...

I m lucky in that I live by the loop line in liverpool and then have cycle designated paths all the way to work, so no roads to tackle. Thanks for the welcome folks.

Hi to you too.

I must take issue with Jan19. We never have the odd argument! Never! I don't know what she's talking about.

Arguments?

Hummm.... so were you maybe havin' a go at the End to End then!

Sloc road is a killer indeed, Ive done it, but likely the opposite way to you... ie tourer bike, turning right after Foxdale and over the Table Top and then DOWN the Sloc road. Much nicer on the calves. FANTASTIC views of the South slope of the island....

Welcome to the forum chum. Hope you post often and get loads of tips and information to aid your cycling obsession.

Welcome.

Who else is releived that the plural of pannier was ued in the original post.

Good news.

Except there isn't going to be a stoning now. There goes Sunday's afternoon entertainment.

Wonderful welcome, thank you all. My bike is currently sitting in the kitchen awaiting its next trip to the LBS, I wanted to take all the heavy components off. I had no idea just how light it would make my wallet ! I mean bike :D
