Every word and every usage was once spoken or written for the first time.

Actually, forums is the new form of the word. The word that was used most recently for the first time. Fora is the plural of a word with a totally different meaning. Forums was invented to describe the plural of the modern day forum.

It's just a simple historical fact. I'm not actually bothered except forae isn't a word . It's simply that this thread is about new words. Fora isn't exactly incorrect, just unconventional.
