There are lots of lamp mounts like that available anyway. For example, SJS Cycles.

Why not cut down an old set of handlebars?

I didn't think the 25.4 bulge would be wide enough.

Plenty available. It's what it's designed for.

You can buy lamp mounts that replicate bar widths, including some with holes and threads IIRC.

I have found "metal mania" easy to deal with over the 'net. https://www.metalmaniauk.com/Stainless-Steel/Tube/default.aspx
They list ali and stainless tube in inch/25.4mm diameter ...any force you put through the bars will also go through this bit of tube, which won't be highly specified ;it needs to be thick enough to cope. Similarly, your existing bars will be clamped in an area they don't expect to be clamped, I don't know if this can be a problem.

I meant the bulge needs to be wider than I have seen on handlebars in order to suit the wider lower part of the aberhallo.

Thanks, but⁸
I have managed to fit the lamps to the handlebars using brackets that I had in spares box :D

These would do the trick.

As others have said 25.4 tube is readily available. I have the same Satori riser for our tandem so know that our stockers bars have a wide enough bulge. Of course not all bars will.
