out front handlebar mount for GoPro - 22mm
out front handlebar mount for GoPro - 22mm
Does anyone know of a source for one of these? I don't seem able to find one wherever I search. I can find 25mm and 38mm - in fact I have a 38mm - and I realise I could wrap a 22mm bar so it would take a 25mm ring. But that seems a terrible bodge. it seems the only really viable place on my bike is the handlebar. Thanks in advance for any steers

My Bike Friday has 22mm bars too. I bodged together a mount using various old light fixings I have around the place (I have a bag of them) - actually works pretty well.

That's what I'd do.Richard Fairhurst wrote: ↑29 Jan 2022, 8:58amI bodged together a mount using various old light fixings I have around the place (I have a bag of them) - actually works pretty well.
Would you prefer a metal shim, eg:

PS: Cue Zen shim:

Jonathan,
Thanks for the link. I read that book as a teenager and wonder now did it have a massive influence on us all. I am willing to accept jury rigged solutions but they make me very uncomfortable. I remember going through a case of old new stock engine webs with a mechanic until we found one which would match old/new stock bearings we had found for my A65. Thats how the Japanese stitched us up of course. All their components just fit . This is tangential, I know.
(Another, not the one in the book) John
ps running with the non-bodge-bodge idea I found some choices. There are loads of ready cut bodges available on ebay or the dedicated DIYer can go to the workshop.

Yes I have a bag of various fittings but have been foxed on this occasion.Richard Fairhurst wrote: ↑29 Jan 2022, 8:58am My Bike Friday has 22mm bars too. I bodged together a mount using various old light fixings I have around the place (I have a bag of them) - actually works pretty well.
Re: out front handlebar mount for GoPro - 22mm
Which bars and which stem are you using?
Re: out front handlebar mount for GoPro - 22mm
Hard to know. It's a Koga and a lot of their stuff is good quality but plain black. I bought a packing piece from eBay for a couple of quid so now I can use my old K-Edge GoPro mount - or I will when the packing piece arrives. I wouldn't mind but I never even look at the go pro footage. I just want my wife to know who to sue if she becomes a widow!

It might be worthwhile posting a photograph of the bars. Some possible solutions will depend on the set up, and might not come to mind without being able to see exactly what you are using.

I was in a similar quandry looking for a mount for the loop on my Redshift Kitchen Sink bars and bought a cheap mount from China and raided the spares box and used the shims from a USE light bracket, it works but does need a section removing for the mount clamp to close up enough.
