Heard the weather lady on R4 Today prog this morning, saying the thunderstorms will spread up for the Southwest. She specifically mentioned Devon and Cornwall.

BBC weather forecasters need to be singing off the same hymn-sheet methinks!

Just had to come in from sunbathing. Baking hot lying on a sun-bed!

Clear blue skies and full sun. 20degC in the north-facing shade. Zero wind.

Not in the LEAST like the weather forecasts BBC, or MetOffice.
Light cloud and a gentle breeze 16degC? Don't make me laugh!

Of course. Don't you?
Starkers as usual.

Took a photo ............ of the sky, not me ................. at 3.55 this afternoon looking south.
Not "sunny intervals" or the threat of thunder or the "light cloud and a gentle breeze" etc etc.

Cirrus?

Start of what?
It drizzled a bit yesterday, and overnight, today too, but that was it.
No sign of thunder or heavy rain in the slightest.

Wind -average 33mph, gusting to 48mph

Heavy rain
I had hoped to venture forth today, but not looking promising, even on the recumbent trike.

Average 25°C on my ride yesterday, max 31°. Got a lovely ripe red dose of sunburn. They're promising us 35° for next weekend. Yesterday was grand, 35° is a bit much.
Have we got time for another cuppa?

No rain forecast for days :( Breakfast in the sunshine turned into a chill this morning with black clouds. Looking forward to some dry heat and lack of wind...

Reuse, recycle, thus do your bit to save the planet.... Get stuff at auctions, Dump, Charity Shops, Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Car Boots. Choose an Old House, and a Banger ..... And cycle as often as you can......

Sunny intervals, and when the sun comes out, it's strong.
Gentle breezes and 20degC (measured on a shaded north-facing outside porch wall)

Just lit the fire.
24degC and rising in the livingroom and Mrs Mick F want's a shower.
She came back from The Gambia a fortnight ago and is in the process of taking out her very fine plaits from her very long hair whilst sitting outside in the sun with a gin and tonic ........ or two.

She want's the power-shower available with hot powerful blasts to wash her locks, hence the fire being lit ............ as it's far cheaper (free, as it's wood from our land) than turning on the electricity immersion heater.

Meanwhile, it's a bit hot in here. 25decC and still rising no doubt.

PS:
I've had to turn on the central heating (four radiators) as we have too much hot water!
The tank was boiling!

26degC in the livingroom and the doors and windows are open.

+ 1. The weather was so superb back in February & March. Blue skies, sun, dry & NO WIND.

But it's been non stop, high wind, sub gale conditions since the start of April. Mileage has halved, both April & Mays ride across to the Lakes, ruined by hundreds of miles into non stop, sub gale head winds. April being the first time I've ever found it physically impossible to assemble the tend, due to wind.

Trains booked for tomorrow, another ride to the Lakes beckon, but it'll be the bus and hill walking instead, if fence panels & cartons of tin cans are still blowing down the road on waking tomorrow. Nothing enjoyable about mile after mile into a head wind!
