Just a quick note of admiration for the conscientious steps taken to avoid spoilers - unless anybody records the coverage to analyse farcilities along the parcours

To be honest I don't know today's result yet!thirdcrank wrote: ↑11 May 2022, 12:48pm Just a quick note of admiration for the conscientious steps taken to avoid spoilers - unless anybody records the coverage to analyse farcilities along the parcours
Re: Giro D'italia
Nobody does yet! 30km to go. Real cyclists do it in the afternoon, not like British early morning perverts.mattheus wrote: ↑11 May 2022, 1:21pmTo be honest I don't know today's result yet!thirdcrank wrote: ↑11 May 2022, 12:48pm Just a quick note of admiration for the conscientious steps taken to avoid spoilers - unless anybody records the coverage to analyse farcilities along the parcours

Re: Giro D'italia
Today it's only 120 miles with 15000 feet of climbing.
Could have an effect on the GC.
What we call in the trade - a bit lumpy.

Just watched today's stage. I was surprised and disappointed to see Simon Yates dropped so early on the Blockhaus, his performance in the TT seemed to indicate he was in good form. Maybe he just had a bad day.
Re: Giro D'italia
He's got a sore knee after his crash the other day.

Plus he said the heat was affecting him.
Hopefully can recover somewhat on todays "rest day". I don't think he will be a challenge for the GC now.
I'd not heard of the Blockhaus before but a brute of a climb to finish on.
Serves the 3 leaders right for messing about before the finish.
You'll never know if you don't try it.
Re: Giro D'italia
But isn't that the joy of bike racing - that there is rarely an obvious route to victory?? e.g. if Landa had just gone all-in up the climb, he would have been outsprinted. But as the favourite in the trio, he would never be able to persuade the other two to work equally.
Also, I don't think they ever had a clear advantage - the gap was around 11 seconds for a long time, I don't think Hindley was outgunned by the Landa group. They had a tough job to win the stage.
A thrilling stage, one way and another
(and I thought Lopez was very humble in his post-race interview, came across very well.)
Re: Giro D'italia
There's a chance they maybe took it a little easy so as not to get into the lead and have to defend it.
Re: Giro D'italia
Willing the breakaway on today.
Will they won't they.

Re: Giro D'italia
Hi,
Hindley, Carapaz, Nibali etc might have let him go because Carapaz was for the GC, or they couldn't match him............
I can see SY taking another stage?
Sorry Simon Yates stage 14!
