Help publicising Stroud Ebike Expo

Post by Redrhino »

Hello,
I'm helping host Stroud's Ebike Expo on Sunday June 26th.
We have four local shops happy to attend and show their ebikes.
We have the local community of ebike riders coming along to show that normal people can and do travel without a car.
We have Stroud Brewery booked as our venue.

I've volunteered to start the publicity.

Does Cycling UK have a poster design I can take and modify?
Is there an image library I can have access to?
Can Cycling UK help with writing a press release?

I'm sure I can manage all of the above just by using google and my own wit, but any help is appreciated.
thanks
Andrew

I suggest contacting the campaign team directly: email campaigns@cyclinguk.org

Is that shops selling eBikes or shops using eBikes in their business?

"Cargo bike deliveries":

It's shops selling ebikes.
In addition we have a promise that a local courier firm will also attend.

Cycling UK has a public image library at https://www.skyfish.com/p/cyclinguk but offhand I can't see any handy photos of people obviously riding ebikes. It might be worth contacting the Bicycle Association (the trade body for independent bike shops ) to see if they have any stock photos you can make use of. Or ask one of the retailers involved in the event to do that. The retailers might also have access to some publicity photos from ebike manufacturers.

Poster templates: one or two in that photo library but they're aimed at specific events/initiatives like Big Bike Revival and Bike Week so might not be appropriate unless your event is part of one of those. If you just want an easy way to design a nice poster quickly, I know a lot of non-designers find Canva very useful for creating good-looking publicity material. The Pro version is free for charities and CICs. (I use more sophisticated design tools myself, he said, smugly.)
