Hi there - new guy here! :-)

Post by downfader »

Recently joined the CTC after being hit by a car (still being sorted) so have been a member since December. I'm known on the interweb as Downfader, real name Dan, and have been using my spare time to write letters to local papers and polititians, basically to try and help create awareness and let people know facilities are needed.

I also make cycling and music related videos and post them on youtube (search "downfader2" - 2 was meant to be as in "too", lol, as in "I'm on there too" hehe). I have a yahoo blog where I moan about all sorts

I've also been a keen photographer in the past and have taken a few million shots in my time. I'm a member at alamy, though have only ever sold one photo, lol!!

So hello!

Welcome to the forum. Hope all goes well with the compensation claim.

Who knows; if the payout is good perhaps we could convince you to get a recumbent and come over to the dark side.....

Is this an indication to start a stealth pannier thread again?

I love recumbants actually, 3 wheels interest me more tbh. Havent the space to keep one sadly.

Accident happened in september, has taken a while for a number of reasons, though looks like it might be sorted out soon. But I wont dwell on that. :)

Hello downfader, do feel free to express your opinion on helmets.

No, but two panniers are evil and will result in the cyclist tipping over to the left.

panniers?

Post by richardyorkshire »

Hang on, this is the Cyclist's Touring Club. Don't we all have four panniers, wear tweeds and cycle thousands of miles on extended tours?

I don't have four panniers, or even two, or even one.

I have a trailer!
(But of course, you all knew that!)

The true tourer does without panniers and relies upon a Carradice Camper Longflap saddlebag.....
