Yes, but Fungicidal makes them sound as daft as they appear to me.

Anything "aero" if you're not a boy racer or mighty belter, and even then...

Possible exception: aerobars. I loved mine back in the day but nowadays the midriff forbids.

I was in a bike shop in Spain recently and they were putting out a Cervelo R5 Lamborghini road bike at a cool 19,9999 euros. They had a coffee shop attached, where the brown stuff and a muffin would set you back 7 euro. Who buys this kind of stuff!

Saw a £32 bottle bag the other night. It holds one bike bottle.

People are buying it and giving it good reviews but come on, a tenner maybe.

Yes that's utterly bonkers. I saw a KCNC one on a gravel bike last week, the bloke shelled of over £500 for it... :mrgreen:

So much of this stuff is far off in the “diminishing rate of returns zone”, you know:

- buy a £500 bike, accelerate from 4mph walking to 10mph cycling;

- buy a £1000 bike and accelerate from 10mph to 15mph;

- buy a £3000 bike and accelerate from 15mph to 16mph;

- buy a £500 set of wheels and tyres and accelerate 16mph to 17mph;

- buy a £500 aero thingermebob and accelerate from 17mph to 17.05mph.

[speeds for illustration, not meant to be exact!]

Fine if you are a professional trying to win a race that might increase your earnings significantly. Otherwise? A way of burning money that you can’t think of anything better to do with.

An "aero" seatpost. The gain over a cylindrical one is tiny and you can't clamp a bleeding thing to it. Of course, this cuts out, I dunno, 75% of current road bikes. Good riddance.

Aero seatpost?

I have, on my Mercian, and have done since I bought the frame in 1986, a Campag Victory seatPIN.
Note the old expression was "seatpin" as they are much shorter than a "post".
