Video of route

Post by wayne.vanheerden »

Hi All,
Some years ago I found a site that allowed you to upload a KMZ file and it would play the route in a video format using something like google streets. It was great to see what the roads were like. BUT I have since lost the link. Does anyone know of a site that does this?
Thanks

Could it have been relive?
Not streetview but a flyby from a gpx or a strava plugin.

You can do it in Google Earth. Do a search on youtube as there are quit a few videos explaining how. There are a lot of parameters you can control (speed of "flight", altitude, etc.). From memory it's a two stage process, 1st creating the "flight", next exporting it as a video. youtube videos tend to cover both stages (in the same videos)

Edit: Remember Google Earth is the app you download and install on your computer and not the web Google Maps web site.
