Re: On tour with my Enigma
Interesting little factoid, but especially liked the bay city rollers extra.

NIGHT!
Boy, haven't thought or heard of that song in a hell of a long time.
Very funny
Liked the "decide amongst yourselves...." bubble, that was funny.

addendum:
I have you to blame for this--while out doing the shopping yesterday, I'm sure most of the other customers were wondering, "what is that song that guy keeps whistling as he walks down the aisles, or the sidewalk, or whatever"
unless of course they were in their 50s or something, then they too may have thought, "boy, haven't heard that in a long time"
Now, after eating some breakfast, I must take my bike out of the box it's in from returning from the Netherlands, and make sure it doesn't have any cracks in the bb shell area.....
cheers dude

Re: On tour with my Enigma
Saw an enigma bike today -- chap said he'd only had it for just over a year -- any advice you'd give him?
I am here. Where are you?

Re: On tour with my Enigma
...and Sunday morning. I went looking for a plaid bike. Here's one. With instructions.
Same as to anybody about any bike – enjoy it while it lasts!
I enjoyed these while they lasted.
The people who own the land that has been the backdrop to my life for the last 20 years decided to get proactive – a little too proactive IMO – about the threat of Ash dieback. Made some magnificent oaks quite a bit thinner while they were at it. It’s been like having front row seats to a horror film. That patch behind the machine was thick with trees.

It's like Tianamenn Square all over again!

Kicking myself that caption didn't occur to me.
Thanks for the link. My excuse is I didn't grow up with Thunderbirds.Bonefishblues wrote: ↑18 Jul 2022, 9:57am Thunderbirds, you mean...

Oi Martha, there's that daft foreigner with his bloody bicycle again.

Re: On tour with my Enigma
Wait a minute - have we broken with Canada as well? Is QEII now persona non grata over yonder?
Re: On tour with my Enigma
Just trying (unsuccessfully) to be funny.
I think I've written this before, but I do laugh wondering what people think seeing you taking photos with the lump.
You should put it in your will that it gets buried with you.
Get it heated up and bent/draped over the casket!
Bystanders will look on and think, oh how lovely, he loved cycling so much, he wanted to go with his bike....
But really, the final and ultimate performance piece!
I do expect half concept creation rights mention, or I'll be mightily miffed.

Re: On tour with my Enigma
Note that I'm hoping to do better than a metric century
"<Sniff> We went on so many great rides together. Until that last one."
This photo retroactively inspired by djb, as I took it last year
My wife and I have been to A LOT of churches over the years, sometimes with our bikes. That's the first time I brought one in with me though.
Re: On tour with my Enigma
Dear Yosemite,
Thanks again for the morning rabbit hole trip.
Liked the "shut the damn door or the damn sheep will come in and sheet all over the place" sign.
Oh, the "see grandpa's tombstone message before you pay and have it engraved" thing jogged a memory-- years ago, rode into one of the big cemeteries on Mont Royal here in Montreal and sat with a friend.
Doing as one does, glanced at various gravestones, and a recent one had the usual Frank or Mary Smith, born... Died...., But down in the lower corner, engraved neatly like the rest, was the jpeg or whatever file number associated with the flowery image under Frank or Mary's name.
Was pretty obvious the layout for the thing was shot into the machine doing the automated engraving, and Mr Roboto just dutifully did his job.(remember that song?)
No surprise to me, I've seen all kinds of screw ups in the bunch of years when we were transitioning from film to Digi, and the wrong files would get sent to the printer of publication by the layout folks.

Re: On tour with my Enigma
Rabbits are a speciality of course.
As for gravestones, I like this one:
spotted in my hometown cemetery. Does Ida walk amongst us still?
