What Has Made You Laugh Today ?
Re: What Has Made You Laugh Today ?
He seemed interested in what I was having for breakfast so I gave him a few -- he crunched them in him! Didn't give him too many in case there'd be an unexpected explosion later on.
I am here. Where are you?

Not laugh - but it definitely put a big smile on my face.
It was a typical summers evening at a popular but civilised, small west Cornish seaside venue. A light onshore breeze blew, the sun had been warming the air all day and was 30 mins from setting. Most families on holiday had retired to their accommodation and a mix of folk stayed for a bite and a sip at the restaurant and bar overlooking the bay. Everything was as you would expect, but then a lone figure appeared on the headland to the west. Silhouetted 50m up on the blue-orange sky, for a moment I feared the worst, but couldn’t help noticing the strangeness of his outline. What was he holding, is he wearing a skirt and cap and is that strange wailing I can just here through the breeze what drew my attention his way in the first place?
Then it dawned on me, the wailing became music; ‘The Skye Boat Song’. Certainly, seeing a lone piper playing there and then was one of the most surreal experiences of my life but also great fun and judging by the applause he received from the gathering that evening in Porthtowan I wasn’t the only one who enjoyed the moment.

Normally I’d agree. The only thing I’d find worse would be a recorder. However, it was a good 300 yards away and most of the shrillness was carried away by the onshore breeze.

I quite like the sound of bagpipes in small doses.
When we did the Great Glen Way in 2004 there was a piper playing in the pub beside the Caledonian canal. It actually got better the more beer we had

Years ago, we drove down to Whitsands Bay as a family for a picnic on the beach.
As we passed the top of the road near Tregantle Fort and past the waste area, we saw a "lone piper" piping away.
We mentioned to ourselves about how sensible he was. Out in the middle of nowhere.
Just here .......... or is it just hear?

Poor chap needed to practice somewhere -- I know he can practice on a chanter but I suppose there's nothing like the real thing ( was going to say full Monty but the visions that conjures up is frightening ! )Mick F wrote: ↑9 Aug 2022, 7:33pm Years ago, we drove down to Whitsands Bay as a family for a picnic on the beach.

Chatting to friend this morning and asked how he was.
"Feeling a bit under the weather at the moment" he said.
"Went to the doctors a couple of days back and he suggested that I have a glass of wine just before going to bed".
"I went to bed 6 times yesterday".

You'll never know if you don't try it.

Woman goes to the doctor and says "Dr every time I sneeze I have an orgasm"
he says "Are you taking anything for it"
"Yes" she says "Pepper"

Very funny - though it shouldn't be.
