Best saddle for a hybrid

Post by robing »

I am having difficulties finding a comfortable saddle for my new hybrid which is a lot more upright than I'm used to.
I have no problems at all on my road and touring bikes or my MTB all of which are less upright.
I'm thinking I need more a wider/gel type saddle would be more suitable.

Everyone has a different shape bum, etc etc. Go to bike shops and try as many as you can.

You could start by measuring your sit bones https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/saddle-sizing/app#/

Is this a town bike or a hybrid though? In theory, hybrids owe a lot to early rigid MTB geometry, only with 700C wheels…

It's one of these - one of these obscure brands that bike shops got in during the pandemic when supplies were limited

I got a saddle from my trusty LBS which is great and the bike is now comfortable :D

Schwinn as in the American equivalent of Raleigh?

Dunno, they might be well known in the US but they aren't a common brand to see in this country. during the pandemic bike shops were getting unusual bikes as they couldn't obtain ones from their usual sources.

Not cheap, but possibly a Brooks B67? "Wider for more comfort in the upright position" according to their website. It's got springs too.

https://www.brooksengland.com/en_uk/b67.html - can be had a lot cheaper elsewhere.
