Tried searching honest!
Any experience of 10 speed 105 brifters with mini-Vs? Are flexible noodles a help?
Or do I fit cantis (which I hate)?
Or are barcons and Tektro drop levers for full size Vs the only sensible option?
10 speed 105 brifters with mini-Vs
Re: 10 speed 105 brifters with mini-Vs
I use Shimano CX50 cantilever brakes with Tiagra 10 speed shifters (they have the same pull ratio as 105). They work very well.
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

I've used mini V brakes with brifter type levers very happily for a number of years. I don't have experience of your specific levers, and you don't say which mini V (there are different lengths) so I cannot say directly. I currently have Campag Ergo levers with TRP mini V (85 arm length), Campag mini V (90 arm length) all working just fine - to my taste. In the past I also used standard Tektro levers with Shimano mini V (95 arm length).

Top of page 2 "iandusud" is using tiagra 4700 levers with (a?) full size vee brake.
You might know if his levers pull the same amount of cable as yours, but you can't know the exact placement of the brake spigots on his frame, relative to yours!

Re: 10 speed 105 brifters with mini-Vs
Yes, I do. I believe that 10 speed 105 will be sslr type like the 4700, so I would suggest giving full size vee brakes a try.531colin wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022, 5:39pm Current thread. viewtopic.php?t=153201&start=15

Re: 10 speed 105 brifters with mini-Vs
Is there a definitive list anywhere showing which Shimano brifters are SSLR, NSSLR, etc?

Re: 10 speed 105 brifters with mini-Vs
I have Ultegra 10 speed with mini Vees. They work fine but I tried various noodles before I found one that didn't pull/push on the brake.
They are very powerful.

Re: 10 speed 105 brifters with mini-Vs
Basically any lever introduced after 2008 should be NSSLR. Another clue is if the levers have under bar tape gear cables, all such levers will be NSSLR. Conversely the opposite is not universally true and not all washing line STIs are SSLR, Tiagra ST4600 for instance are NSSLR.
Here's a list of NSSLR STIs that I compiled some time ago:
Dura Ace ST-7900 or later, Ultegra ST-6700 or later, 105 ST-5700 or later, Tiagra ST4600 or later , Sora ST-3500 or later, Claris ST- 2400 or later.
Your best option is as ever to consult Shimano tech docs.
