Alfine disc centerlock adaptor problem

I am trying to fit a disc brake to my alfine 11 which is installed in my Moulton Cone.

Rather than buy a centerlock rotor I'm trying to use an adaptor but the lock ring isn't reaching the disc.

Anyone had a similar issue? Is there a spacer I am missing and which side would it go?

I've only used one and they might not all be the same.
