Azores
My first thought was these more obscure places are often very expensive for accommodation.
However a quick check on Booking shows hostels for £20 a night and cheap singles for about £30 (upwards of course) in mid May.
Let's go.

Him indoors sailed there (Azores) and back as part of the AZAB race from Falmouth. Crazy but you can see why we get on!

Can thoroughly recommend Meloneras, Gran CaneriaJon in Sweden wrote: ↑25 Nov 2022, 9:12am Thanks for all the feedback folks.
On reflection, it might be best to stick to one of the more common choices. Gran Canaria really appeals - it looks far easier to do circular routes without backtracking than on Tenerife.

Run by the Pinizotto family. We hired some very nice Colnago carbon CLX bikes at very reasonable prices which included a bike fit - challenging circular routes starting from the beach front shop.
