A simply delicious morning to be out. And about time too. It’s been weeks!

Minus four this morning.
Minus three when I took the dog a walk a 11:30, but the lanes had patches of black ice on them. I had to be careful!

Here we are, at nearly 2pm, and it's reached the dizzy heights of Zero.

This is despite the weather forecasts saying Plus Seven now.

Cold this morning, with a bit of a mist stopping the sun from doing its work. But now the sun has burst through and we have a cold (3 degrees) but sunny day, with next to no wind. Better for dog walking than cycling. With the state of the lanes today I was glad I was walking and not chancing it on two wheels.

That's the price you pay for living in a frost hollow. We are on top of a low hill and it is always warmer up here than down the lane. Cold air sinks.

Minus 3 all day here. Bit of a northerly breeze, sunny intervals and just the faintest hint of snow. Good cycling weather to be honest. Did 55km on gravel, though inadequately fuelled so struggled a bit.

It has turned cloudy here and the forecast is for it stay that way all next week, DURR. At least it should be slightly warmer.

Very welcome thaw today -- Snow almost gone from the lane. My snow cat can't catch anything now.

Light & fluffy snow falling, temp ~0°C.

A couple of nights back La Combe Noire in the Jura had -36°C. It's only ~1000 metres up.
Have we got time for another cuppa?

Minus 10 first thing now up to minus 7; off shortly for a ride to a bar to meet a friend who is he's coming back with me for dinner.
That is unless he cries off. :D

Had a very mild two days compared to last week and even got out and done 30 mile on my cube mtb ( love that bike goes anywhere and in comfort. ) legs were shot though so wasn't too speedy. Too long a break since the frost an snow hit. On way home saw the gritter out so must be in for a bit more ice in the next day or two.

The far south west of the UK has had terrific weather of late. Not perfect temperatures but next to no wind for five weeks or more. I’ve enjoyed rides out but the walks have been the best. The quietness has been fabulous with just natural sounds of wildlife resonating the ear drums. Yesterday I did a coastal walk with a friends dog on an empty beach and was treated to this rainbow all to myself.
It was one of those golden moments that remind me that, despite at times the seemingly endless drizzle, I made the right decision to move back here.

Alas, it’s all change today. Heavy rain and moderate winds for the rest of the week, at least.
