Self sealing tubes
Hi all, I have new self sealing tubes but every time I put air in, the sealant gums up the valve so it leaks and I get a flat tyre, what am I doing wrong?

Re: Self sealing tubes
Park the wheel with the valve at "6 o'clock" to allow sealant to drain from the stem. Depress valve slightly to expel remaining gunge before attaching pump.

I figured there would be a way to do it, I always have the valve at 3 o'clock, so thanks for the help.wirral_cyclist wrote: ↑3 Feb 2023, 7:10pm Park the wheel with the valve at "6 o'clock" to allow sealant to drain from the stem. Slime is very thick so lower than 3 better so it drains.reddevil1971 wrote: ↑4 Feb 2023, 9:15amI figured there would be a way to do it, I always have the valve at 3 o'clock, so thanks for the help.wirral_cyclist wrote: ↑3 Feb 2023, 7:10pm Park the wheel with the valve at "6 o'clock" to allow sealant to drain from the stem.
