Transport from Newquay to Penzance

My friend and I are flying into Newquay from USA. We need to find a way to get our bicycles and ourselves to Penzance to start the LEJOG with a cycling group. We will not have a way to load our bikes and cycle there. Is there a bus or train or shuttle that could take us??

Rail:
Train connections from Newquay to Penzance take a couple of hours, and I think that you always have to change once. It's about 6 miles from the airport to the train station. The station in Penzance is in the town. You can take bikes on the trains but I can't remember the details.

Taxi:
We've often used taxis to join up our walking trips in Cornwall. I'd include that in your option appraisal.

I would definitely organise a taxi from Newquay airport to Penzance. The last thing you need is the hassle having to take a bus, then change to a train, just arrived from USA and, split between two, the taxi cost will not be extortionate
