Browsing for something else, I came across an innertube that covers both 700c and 650B in the tyre widths I use, 40 and 55mm respectively. Tube I saw was Schwalbe's SV19, there may be others.
Would be useful to me, I swap saddlebag between bikes and carry both sizes to save remembering to have the right one. Then I got to thinking, what makes this one suitable for both and not their other tubes? Would the wrong size get you home? If so, which way would you be better off going?
I always patch and don't get through many tubes, next time I'm replacing I might go for this multi size, though that might not be for some years.
Thoughts?
Multi size tubes - 650/700
Re: Multi size tubes - 650/700
I carry a 47/60-584 inner tube for both 650b and 700c because it's the better of the two choices that I have. I also carry some repair anchovies
That inner tube size works well in both 42 and 47mm 650b tyres when running tubed. I hope that what I lose in stretching it to 700c will be okay with a 35mm tyre, it's only to get me home
One day we'll see, I'm sure
