Spinergy spox replacement rims

Post by Ke1th »

My spinergy spox wheels are getting a bit worn on the braking surface. Can anyone recommend a suitable rim for rebuild?

I had this problem 11 years ago. I eventually used a 24 hole Sun Ringle EQ21 rim (26"), but using a 4.8mm drill bit (got on eBay) to open the eyelets just a tad to accept the spoke heads. I was slightly nervous about doing this but I had no subsequent issues. Truing was slightly problematic & it took several attempts to get it right. You do need special spoke wrenches which I no longer have. I got mine way back direct from Spinergy way back. Good luck.
