Update - Just turned on my Explore 2 and the opened the Connect app on my phone, an option to update appeared and after accepting, it did so in a couple of minutes via Bluetooth. So maybe the only time it'll need a cable connection will be map updates, I assume they'll be too big to transfer over Bluetooth.
