Hi Martin,
Yes, we are camping.
We will need access to 240v somewhere on the site to re charge the batteries.
Any campsite recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks for the link. I will have a look while watching the snooker.

New trip planning May 2024
Re: New trip planning May 2024
I cycled the Hebridean Way last September, south to north, then north to south, it just seemed easier than messing about with transport on the mainland.
I camped and stayed in hostels. Some recommendations are:
Barra - Wavecrest campsite - great campsite and you could charge the battery in the shared kitchen. Easy ride from the ferry.
North Uist - Moorcroft - another great site with mains outlets outside and in the shared kitchen.
Lewis - I camped at Ardroil beach. It's a bit off track but it's fantastic. Fairly hilly ride to get there though. I can't remember if there were mains sockets.
Harris - I stayed in the Scaladale Centre hostel which was pretty good.
Harris - there are campsites on the north coast which were recommended to me. I didn't camp there because I was rushing to get the ferry before a storm hit.
Berneray - I stayed in the Gatliff hostel and really recommend it.
South Uist - Kilbride campsite was ok with great views, sockets in the shared areas.
Camping and hostels gives you flexibility which is important with the weather. I changed plans a few times during the trip.

Eilean Fraoich near Siabost. Small but reasonable facilities.
Horgabost - great views, simple facilities, very popular but should be space at the time of year.
Balranald - has a drying room! Had to tie tent to picnic benches due to wind.
Otter’s Edge - just been taken over by new management. Simple, flat with kitchen.
Scurrival! Cheap and had a kitchen again.
Moorcroft - can’t remember much about that one.
Not sure about charging for bikes. Most have a website or Facebook page for contact.
We also wild camped for a few nights. Beautiful but completely lacking in electricity!

Would you include minimal hostels? We used some of the Gatliff Hebridean Hostels Trust's;Ian the woodworker wrote: ↑14 Jan 2024, 7:50pm ...

Its useful to know which have kitchens. I am assuming that would mean we could get the batteries recharged.

Yes, depending on the weather I think knowing where the hostels are could be useful. Are these normally booked ahead, or do you just turn up?
Re: New trip planning May 2024
You can’t book Gatliff. You need to read this page https://gatliff.org.uk/?page_id=4265 on using.
