I have a need to learn how to maintain and service hydraulic brakes. There's a lot of rubbish Chinese kit around. I was pleased to find this UK company with an eBay and on-line presence who gave me good service, https://www.totalbleedsolutions.co.uk/

They also have a shop in Middlesbrough - I see their very nicely liveried van on a regular basis on my way to work!

Not used them myself (I'm all cable), but great to see specialist niche business doing well.

I had Avid Elixir brakes on a Kona Cinder Cone. Terrible things; the DOT fluid absorbed moisture and "pumped up" the brakes, meaning bleeding every 3 months to remove the excess volume. No apparent expansion vessel. I ended up selling the bike. I understand Shimano mineral oil brakes are a lot less trouble.

My mention of rubbish kit was a reference to Chinese brake bleeding kits. In contrast, the gear from TBS was excellent. My Chinese brakes are fine and use mineral oil.

That's less to do with the fluid and more to do with the fact that Avid brakes were renowned for being rubbish.
I've had Hope brakes (also DOT fluid) for decades and they've been perfect.
