Apparently they were allowed by the regulator to have bigger profits this year to compensate for losses incurred through taking on customers whose providers had gone bust when the Ukraine War caused a spike in the wholesale price of gas. So it should be a one-off.
Do you (or anyone!) have a figure for these losses? Is it comparable to the 900% figure ??
No, it's just me repeating a snippet I heard on Radio 4 this morning.

I can't find the projected power output, but there's a report due to be published today.

Thanks

Just a conversation, no project yet. 3.6 GW aggregate across several cables.

Massive, but no great unknowns...

I haven't read this yet. Previous National Grid reports have been the single most helpful source of quantitative information on realistic scenarios.

Dynamic pricing being discussed by OFGEM. Coming our way in the future.
An attempt at balancing usage with generation to control pricing. Smart metering will be the key to its introduction.

The OFGEM consultation:

And of course it connects(!) intimately to local generation, vehicle to grid and vehicle to home.

The article appears concerned only with wind vs FF, there's no mention of nuclear which is often referred to as 'low carbon' or 'lower carbon' energy rather than 'renewable'. To me, renewable suggests solar PV, geothermal, wind and other fluvial energies.
