Worth keeping or chucking or ect
I've got some bikes I need to know a little about and will need to upload pictures. Can anyone suggest and assist me. Thanks.

Welcome
You can upload them here or link to them on another server. Which would you prefer?
For uploading click on the Attachments tab then the Add files button.

Clearly need to click on post a reply in order to attach. Next few days I'll be uploading a pic of a frame whose configuration I have never seen before and may explain fracture. Some old if not very old frames also. Speak soon.

The white one is a Thanet Silverlight. Can be worth quite a bit. Shame the tube has snapped. It may well be worthwhile repairing if other tubes are sound. Youngs were the supplying shop. https://www.cicliartigianali.co.uk/bike ... t/sl1949-1

So T stands forThanet not Typhoon. My limited knowledge suggested holdsworth would not have made white one but hust wanted to check wasnt pressing anyone. Thanks. Unlikely next few bikes are as interesting. I'll pack these up, read your stuff and carry on.

I was going to say "broken" but tatanab nailed it. Thanet Silverlight so roughly the same era, early 50's.
Holdworth had a range of frames mostly named after winds - Monsoon, Scirocco, Tornado, Typhoon... You'd probably need to look at the lugwork in detail to be able to tell them apart if the name labels have worn off.
Unless I'm wrong and the red one is another Thanet...?

OK nice. A journey that in a way will end a little sad because I am assuming and in part I know that much of all this has been lost. I often refer to the Raleigh factory in Nottingham now demolished and Raleigh itself and will likely be compelled to learn much more. Thanks
