George Longstaff touring bike 5'10" 32 leg !!

Post by tenbikes »

I can't recall the bike size, but my size is as above. I would prefer a longer reach for comfort [I have long arms, probably as a result of a mis-spent youth rock climbing all the time!] So, any normally proportioned 178cm guy will probably find the size ok.

It is the 531 model with the lovely detailing INSIDE the fork...the 'pack of cards'

Other than bar tape, which I haven't done as it is such a personal thing, the bike is ready to tour. Everything is smooth and works as it should. The wheel bearings are silky smooth :)
front and rear racks, cages etc, as per photos

I can deliver between Inverness and Hull, or happy to post. I have sent bikes by post before and will pack it carefully.

£275, with two or three spare tyres [Schwalbe marathons I think: need to check the shed!]

Whoops, I thought I'd put my location in.....

I'm near Kinross, Central Scotland. However, I have family in Hull / York, and travel regularly to the Yorkshire Dales.
I'd be happy to go north too, as far as Inverness.......I'd just combine the trip with a munro walk or a bike ride.

ok folks, bit of an update: the additional tyres are Marathon x1 and Mondial x2

Now that I'm on a desk top rather than a small screen I can sort out where we are :)

Looking at the times of the PM's hotsnack / Paul has first dibs, followed by disherwood / David.

I am in the Yorkshire Dales [Horton and/or Helwith Bridge] for caving the w/e 24-27 May and pick up from there would allow you to check the bike over and then go for a ride in the Dales. I'll be underground most of the day, but available morning to say c9:30 then late afternoon / evening. I can book you in as a guest at the cottage if you want to make a weekend of it...only £10!

Can you both let me know if this arrangement suits?

Seeing that postage is an option I don't understand why money not already changed hands!

Yep. Notable bargain for an excellent example of a renowned framebuilder's work.
