Womens only cycling trip advice

Post by Fran_Wilson »

Hello,

I am considering trying a womens only bike tour and am wondering if anyone here has ever been on one before and has any advice?

Thanks so much,

Hello, my 'other half' - the Boss - often rides down from the UK to our home in Deux Sevres alone, starting from Roscoff and then following voie vertes/quiet roads. 6 days, camping at nights. If this is too brave for your first attempt, try Breton Bikes at Gouarec (on the web) based alongside the Nantes Brest canal. Lots of Routes of differing sorts and distances. Also have a look at af3v.com, the French voie verte site - lots of info to see.
Good luck!

Happy Days!

The OP doesn’t say it’s a first attempt.

If it’s the right Fran then she’s done the Hebridean Way, Camino de Santiago and the Via Francigena https://epicroadrides.com/faces/fran-wilson/

I know that one should never assume, but if the poster was the lady with so much experience under her Schwalbes, it would perhaps be a rather strange enquiry. Who knows? It matters not, we are all here to help.

Well spotted. The link that she posted and which I removed was to an article on the same website but by another writer. It looked suspiciously like astroturfing to me, but I did not investigate as thoroughly as you and discover that Fran Wilson was also one of their writers.
