I wanted to make a cycle route of the Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack on cycle.travel, just because I thought it would be funny to pretend to ride around it on a bicycle on my indoor trainer with the route on my Garmin... but because it's not a real road, it's not on the map on cycle.travel. I had to find some other way...
I drew a path around the racetrack in Google Earth, saved as a KML file, converted that to GPX by using this, then seeing that it didn't have elevations, I copied it to my Garmin, unplugged it, plugged it back in, copied the FIT file version, converted that back to GPX and the elevations were there. Then I tidied that up a bit more by getting rid of the time tags and it's all done.

So if you want to cycle on your indoor trainer (with map on a Garmin or Wahoo) around Nürburgring Nordschleife, now you can.

It's about 13 miles long.
